I am sick of using thermacell as the butance cartridges and refills are expensive. I purchased this as well as the small repel and I used my thermal camera to check their temperatures - they do get very hot but won't burn you. I did this because some youtubers mentioned it doesn't get hot enough. I can confirm that they do indeed get up to temperature that is advertised. Although I haven't used it camping yet, I'm going to give them a 5/5 for a very well made product.
Got this to replace a competitor’s bigger and bulkier product. The max repeller fits in my bino harness no problem. I’ve got my hunting gear as minimal as possible and no longer need to carry a backpack for day hunts, thanks in part to the max repeller. Bonus that it pulls double duty as backup battery to charge headlamp, phone, etc.

This little device actually surprised me! It is easy to use it really does keep the mosquitoes away! I live in the Adirondack Mountains, we also have something called “black-flies” in early summer. When they bite you know it! This little machine even keeps them away. No nasty spray coming out either! It just quietly does it’s thing :-) Great value for the money.
Did a great job keeping mosquitoes away and was able to sit out and enjoy the nice weather
Seems to be working so far but was pretty windy when we tried it last night! We plan to mainly use it at our table when eating outside either in garden or when camping do it's a shame it doesn't stand up on its own and has to be propped up.
This has been a good send! I suffer badly from bites but this year every time I use it no bites. I used it at a friend's gathering and everyone said, that's weird not been bitten all night...I showed everyone the device, now they took have bought devices.

Only tried the repeller once. Sitting out the back the wasps were buzzing all around us. I fired up the repeller and as if by magic, or coinsidence , they were gone and never returned. Hard to believe I thought, but that is my experience so far. Lets hope it works on the Scottish Midge too.
I've only used for a few hours on a local lake and seems to work very well , my only problems are unit storage, and power button , it can get turned on in pocket , and there is nothing to store or carry the device in when not using hence turning on in my pocket , other than than love it , autumn will be the real test
